Surveying the Nailsworth Cycle Path
Do you want to be out in nature in spring, looking for wildlife?
Every Thursday in May and June 2018 we will be surveying the wildlife along the Nailsworth Cycle Path. We will be looking for signs of mammals, old trees and potential tree roosts for bats. We will also put up a bat detector for one week and identify the bat calls we record.
The survey techniques we will be using are:
- Tree identification
- Bat roost identification
- Mammal signs
- Phase 1 Land Use Survey
You don’t need any previous survey skills, as we will train you in the survey techniques.
We will go out from 10am to 3pm on Thursdays in May and June starting on 10th May. Please bring suitable clothing (raincoat, sturdy shoes), flask or water, lunch and snack.
If you can’t make the surveys, but have seen wildlife or rare plants along the cycle path, we would also like to hear from you.
