The Heavens area of Stroud has been the subject of a community campaign and it is now in public ownership. Its new owners, the people of Stroud, are getting together to improve the area’s footpaths so everyone can access the Heavens more easily. You can find full details here on the Heavens Valley Action group website.
We’ll be working with the Heavens Valley Action Group to deliver two volunteering days on Monday 10 and Tuesday 11 February, and we’re inviting people to book a place here.
We’ll cut back vegetation overgrowing some of the most heavily used and overgrown routes, focusing particularly on the path down from the Cemetery, from Highfields, and at the Bowbridge entrance at the bottom of Gunhouse Lane.
You will be sent full details including timings by email after you book your place. There’s a back-up date of Monday 17 February in case of inclement weather.
This is a free event, but we’re asking people to book so we can run the event safely.
