Becoming a Friend helps our community, our wildlife and our planet
Our Friends are vital to our work. By making regular, affordable payments, our Friends provide funding for our projects, for people and for wildlife.
Every penny goes towards improving our district and engaging our community.
SVP Friends receive a regular newsletter with updates on our activities; they find out first about our popular events and receive a 20% discount on many of our walks, talks and expert-led sessions. We have a range of ways you can join us as a Friend to suit your budget.

Our one-off payment of £25 for an individual or £40 for a household/family entitles you to all the benefits of SVP Friendship for one year at the click of a button.

Becoming a Friend of SVP by paying a standing order is great for our charity - especially if it is a monthly one, because it means our projects and volunteers are supported with regular payments. As soon as we receive your first instalment, we’ll email details about how to get your Friends’ discount on most of our events, and you can look forward to receiving our newsletters throughout your membership.
Friends typically pay £3, £5 or £10 a month – you set the amount that is right for you, although we do request a minimum of £2/month or at least £15/year.

Environmental problems can seem huge and distant, but the climate crisis, pollution in our lakes and rivers, and changes to the way we manage land have all had an impact right here in our district – and, at SVP, we’re working with volunteers and communities to protect nature and the built environment for future generations.
Friends of SVP help us to cover our core costs: the essential costs of renting an office, paying our staff, and maintaining our infrastructure. Having this stable financial base means we can continue to deliver positive results and excellent value for money.
