Swifts and Local Biodiversity Talk

  • Stroud Brewery GL5 2BY (map)

Swifts make an extraordinary journey to visit our shores every year, travelling over 6000 miles from Central Africa to breed here in the UK.

Join us at Stroud Brewery on Saturday 2nd of July for a fascinating talk from one of the UK’s leading swift experts, Edward Mayer. Edward has held a fascination for these birds since childhood and will lead us on an exciting whistle stop tour of their life journey and the conservation efforts that are underway to protect them from decline.

Stroud Brewery will be offering refreshments, including Hobbs House cakes (available to purchase) following the talk. There will also be a chance to chat with representatives from the Stroud Swift Group, who will show you some sample swift nest boxes and talk about the important work being undertaken to support this recently red-listed species here in the Stroud District.

If you would like to pre-order a delicious £10 platter from Stroud Brewery to enjoy, you can call them on (01453) 887122
