Bestselling author joins trio of tutors
A bestselling author is hosting a unique writing workshop at her home in Stroud, in support of a popular charity.
Katie Fforde, who won the Romantic Novelist Association’s Lifetime Achievement Award earlier this year, will welcome would-be writers to her beautiful home in Rodborough, along with fellow authors Alison May and Janet Gover, with the aim of guiding them towards developing and completing a novel. A proportion of proceeds of the day will be donated to Stroud Valleys Project, the conservation and community-building charity of which Katie is a supporter.
The day-long workshop will enable writers, whether they’re beginners or more experienced, to learn about the craft of novel-writing and the skills needed to build a career as a published author. Participants will take part in small group sessions and have the chance to talk to Katie directly about her writing and career.
The workshop also includes a two-course lunch with wine, snacks and treats throughout, and a Katie Fforde goodie bag.
“Working with writers when they are starting out is incredibly rewarding,” says Katie. “Our last writing workshop run together with Stroud Valleys Project was so inspiring – I learned a lot, and I know the writers who came along did, too.
“Janet and Alison are consummate professionals who both understand the balance between creating art and satisfying the demands of the publishing world, so working with them is a privilege – and it will be a lot of fun too!
“I’m a long-time supporter of Stroud Valleys Project as I love wildlife, and I admire the way they engage people of all abilities to feel more connected to nature, here in our beautiful Stroud valleys.”
The workshop is suitable for writers across any genre and takes place on Saturday 2 September.
