Weavers and Workhouse Walk

Join Stroud Valleys Project and social historian and walking footballer Stuart Butler of Radical Stroud for a dive into our ‘Glocal’ history, where the local and the global intertwine.

Starting at the Ale House in Stroud’s town centre, we will walk up the hill to the Bisley Road Cemetery, exploring Stroud’s rich social history as we go along.

After your walk, you can visit our Between Sky and Earth art exhibition, which is located in the chapels of rest, and features the work of 38 artists celebrating the wonders of the Landscapes of the Lark.

This is a FREE event, and there is no need to book. Just meet us in the Ale House at midday. This will be a hilly walk, so if this is a problem for you, you can always meet us at the cemetery, where there is limited parking on public roads nearby, and some disabled parking available on site.

You may be covering some uneven ground during the walk, so please wear sturdy footwear and weather appropriate clothing.

This event is part of our Landscapes of the Lark festival, which is supported by the Cotswold National Landscapes Farming in Protected Landscapes fund.
